Sunny isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Barri Gòtic, but this 1-bedroom apartment to rent on Carrer de la Mercè is bright. It also has a small balcony. You’re in an older building on the 4th floor, so you’ll need to climb the stairs to get to your new home. The front door opens into the fully equipped kitchen. The double bedroom has a walk-in closet with shelving, a clothing rack, and washing machine. The bathroom is small and has a shower stall. And the cozy open-plan living room has a dining table, shelving unit, sofa, and TV.

Old and new come together in Barri Gòtic. The Gothic Quarter is one of the most unique and charming neighborhoods in the city. You can easily lose your way in the maze of streets. But surprises await when you do. The area is pocked with sunny bustling squares like Plaça Reial. Jazz clubs, tapas bars and restaurants are waiting to be discovered around every corner. And for groceries you can walk to the Santa Caterina or Boqueria markets in 10 minutes.

Things to keep in mind
