This 1-bedroom apartment, with an exterior balcony that overlooks the sophisticated Rue de Lausanne, is located in the eclectic neighbourhood of St Gilles in central Brussels. The rooms within the apartment are spacious and laid out in a comfortable manner, making this a great choice for couples. The modern home features a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with a bathtub and washing machine, a spacious living room, and a bedroom.

With an abundance of parks, bars, galleries, restaurants and shops on your doorstep, the vibrant neighbourhood of St. Gilles is perfect for expats living and working in Brussels. As the European Commission, Institutions and universities are all easily accessible by the nearby metro and trams, this apartment is ideally situated for professionals. While St Gilles itself has a great deal to offer, the proximity to the city centre and the shopping hub of upmarket area Ixelles is also an added feature of the apartment. The size of the apartment is 70m2.

What we liked the most

  • The kitchen is perfect for those who love to cook, the oven is modern and the gas hobs atop will serve to cook some delectable meals. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there is even an espresso maker for those who need a caffeine kick before a busy day. The dining area adjoins the kitchen with a sophisticated glass table which seats up to six people, perfect for dinner parties and gatherings in this already spacious apartment.
  • The bathroom is a really good size and has been well maintained, it is home to a traditional bathtub, which has the potential to ease the stress of a hectic day!
  • The view from both the interior kitchen window and the exterior balcony are fairly impressive. The kitchen has a large window allowing for a great deal of light and looks over gardens and some quaint Belgian buildings while the balcony overlooks the sophisticated street below with its classic Belgian architecture.
  • There is a washing machine in the apartment and plenty of room to dry clothes.
  • The apartment is in a great location: perfect for those who like the city but also some greenery as there are plenty of parks around yet tenants will only be fifteen minutes from the city centre.

Things to keep in mind

  • The bedroom is very spacious with a lot of storage, however the bed itself, though large, is a fold-up bed.
  • The bathroom requires access through the bedroom, if entertaining this is something to consider if you enjoy privacy.
  • The building is not equipped with an elevator.

Getting around

Transportation

The apartment is excellently located in terms of public transport, ensuring that you will be able to travel around Belgium in next to no time. The European Commissions and Institutions are around twenty minutes by metro, Metro station Louise and Munthof are equidistant from the apartment at around 7 minutes walk and both connect with lines 2 and 6, which will take you directly to the European Institutions. The Faider tram station is 5 minutes from the apartment and will get you to Gare Central in the city centre in 20 minutes with line 92. Line 97 also leaves from here. Brussels Zuid train station is 20 minutes away from the apartment and from here you can be in Paris in no time, ideal for a quick break or work trip. Stephanie tram is around ten minutes away and connects with lines 93 and 94. Night bus service N12 can be taken from Bareet bus stop, around ten minutes from the apartment - - ideal if you wish to sample the famous Belgian nightlife in the city centre.
