This house has three floors and the bedroom with ensuite bathroom is located in the converted attic on the top floor, and it is not equipped with an elevator. It has gas heating and gas water heating. There is a laundrette closeby where clothes can be washed and dried. The minimum lease for this apartment is 150 days (5 months). WiFi is installed in the property and is installed.

Spotahome's opinion

This two bedroom, two bathroom three story pet-friendly house is located in the vibrant city center of Brussels. There is one bedroom for rent, with king-size bed, on the second floor of the house with a good-sized ensuite bathroom. The other bedroom, on the first floor belongs to the landlord who shares common areas and courtyard on the ground floor. The street is welcoming and lined with terraced houses with facades full of greenery. A few minutes from the famous Place du Jeu Balle flea market, this is one of Brussels’ most popular shopping hubs, with bars and restaurants with outdoor terraces nearby which add to the lively city center atmosphere. The European Institutions are easily accessible from the house and Université Saint-Louis Bruxelles is less than ten minutes by bus or car. The room is 80m2.

What we liked the most

  • The large window looking out to the street ensures that the living area is luminous. The living area is well laid out with a dining area distinct from the living space. The decor gives a relaxed and calming atmosphere, very homely.
  • There is a courtyard nestled in the back of the house offering some respite from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
  • The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of storage space. The oven and refrigerator are modern.
  • The bedroom is spacious and although you are in a shared-house, you have your own floor and independence.
  • It is located in the city center yet the street is really calm, homely and tranquil. There are lively bars nearby is desired yet the street itself is residential and quiet.

Things to keep in mind

  • There are no washing facilities in the house, although there is a really efficient and friendly laundrette minutes away for washing and drying.
  • The living space is on the ground floor and although the window illuminates the living area through to the kitchen incredibly well, it is level with the street outside. It is part shaded however to ensure privacy.
  • There is ongoing construction work across the street, yet work should be completed soon and the rest of the street is full of greenery (updated August 2015).

Transportation

The house is very well placed for transport links that will get you around the city in no time. Only a three minute walk from the house is Jeu Balle bus stop which connects with lines 27 and 48. Porte de Hal Metro is a 4 minute walk from the house where you will find metro lines 2 and 6. Gare de Bruxelles-Chapelle train station is an eight minute walk from the house, providing excellent connections around the city and country.

Flatmates

The house is shared with landlady, an easy-going and independent female in her 30's. You will share the common areas on the spacious ground floor, separate bedrooms and bathrooms are on different levels, allowing for both independence and interaction (updated August 2015).
