Cliches aside, Justicia is much more than just the gayest place in the city. It’s a beautiful, harmonious mix of old and new.
A traditional Madrid barrio; it’s also spirited, forward-thinking, bold and beautiful. It’s a trendsetter with Innovative cuisine, boutique shops, and just a few bars … just a few.
Shop til you drop in the alternative boutiques around Mercado de Fuencarral. Then it’s rooftop tapas and sunset sangria at the San Antón Market. All that’s left then is to dance til dawn.
Hungry? Try El Tigre. Ok, so it’s not the classiest joint. But go once for the comically big tapas. This is what a free lunch actually looks like.

Legend has it that when Emperor Claudius II banned his soldiers from marrying (believing it would weaken the army), the OG of romance just married them in secret.
The soft-hearted Roman priest was eventually found out. And they swiftly removed his head. That head is now on display in the church. How romantic.
