This 1-bedroom apartment for rent on Rue Mulet is like a quiet retreat in the downtown center of Lyon. Opening the front door, you’ll notice the tiled floors, exposed stone wall, and a wooden staircase that leads to the mezzanine, where there is an office area, an open relaxation space with a double bed, and an additional enclosed room. Back on the main floor is the open concept living room furnished with a sofa, chairs and TV, and a dining area with a table and 4 chairs, as well as ample shelving. The fully equipped kitchen is set apart from the entrance by a breakfast counter with stools. Walking through the galley-style kitchen, you’ll reach the spacious modern bathroom.
Croix-Rousse is one of the choice neighborhoods to live in Lyon because it’s practically at the heart of the city. In fact, your apartment is located at the epicenter on the peninsula between the Saône and Rhône Rivers. From here you get great access to popular sights, and the Museums of Fine Arts and Printing and Graphic Communication are both less than 4 minutes away. There are also dozens of restaurants and a couple of nearby theaters. You’ll find an Asian grocery store just up the street, and the closest supermarket is the Monoprix, which is only a 4-minute walk from your door.
What we liked the most
- The apartment is much more spacious than you’d imagine a 1-bedroom apartment to be, and the addition of the office is great if you work or study at home.
- With so many restaurants around, you always have plenty of options when you don’t feel like cooking!
- It’s great to be close to cinemas, as well as museums and more typical tourist sights.
- Public transportation is practically right outside your door.
