If you want a comfy place to call your own, this 1-bedroom apartment for rent on Calle Irlandeses is a perfect fit. As you walk through the front door, you find yourself is an open kitchen and dining area with a four-seat table and a small credenza. The kitchen has a retro-cool vibe and is equipped with a fridge, stove top, microwave and washing machine, The fanciful black-on-white tiles above the counter match those on the floor and shower stall in the stylish bathroom. The living room has an exposed brick wall with French doors that open to a small balcony, overlooking the narrow pedestrian street. There is a retro coffee table, a large TV, and a sofa that can be opened to a double bed. And the bedroom, which has a window to an interior patio, is modern and white, with a rustic bed board and double bed. It’s the perfect spot for a good night's sleep!
La Latina is one of the most colorful spots in Madrid. Dappled with interesting cafés, tapas bars and taverns, it’s also conveniently located if you love trying new culinary delights. When you get tired of all the amazing food, you can walk it off at the nearby Campo del Moro Gardens, on the the grounds of the Royal Palace. If you love a little adventure, you can stroll through the streets, uncovering a number of small art and private galleries. In the evening, there are great performances at a number of theaters in the area, but Teatro de La Latina is only 6 minutes from your doorstep. And if you want to learn more about Spanish language, history, or a number of other subjects, the Puerta de Toledo Campus of the Charles III University of Madrid is also only 6 minutes away.
What we liked the most
- The apartment. Seriously: it may not be huge, but it’s just one of those spaces that you’ll fall head-over-heels in love with the second you step in the door.
- With so many tapas bars, taverns, restaurants and markets, the neighborhood is a foodie dream!
- There is a vibrant arts community here, and the area will feel like a little slice of paradise if you are an art and theater performance enthusiast.
- There are plenty of supermarkets, but the traditional Cebada Market is around the corner and the famous Rastro flea market is also held nearby.

- The busiest train station in Madrid, Atocha can be reached with a 15-minute metro ride from the Tirso de Molina station or, if you're not in a hurry, you can walk there in 25.
