We're in love with this amazingly stylish 1-bedroom apartment on Ronda de Atocha. A capacious 90 m² of chic, contemporary classiness, the property is ideal for a young professional who's looking for a cool new pad. Artwork abounds in this home, contrasting and complimenting the modern fittings and furnishings; from the M. C. Escher-inspired floor tiles in the kitchen, to the portraits and sketches that adorn the walls of the living room.
Bright, comfortable, and effortlessly hip. What's not to love?
If the apartment is the place to go home to, then this area is the place to go out in. Lavapiés is a vibrant, exciting neighbourhood. What was once grittiness has been transformed into style; excellent bars and restaurants line every street - and the prices haven't yet caught up to the cool - it's a place where you can enjoy contemporary Madrid, but that retains its authenticity.
It's central, too. Puerta del Sol, Madrid's (and Spain's) kilometre zero, is less than 20 minutes' walk away. And Atocha, just around the corner, houses the city's central station, bringing all of Spain within easy reach. Atocha is also home to the Museo de Reina Sofia – Picasso's masterpiece, Guernica, resides there.
What we liked the most
- It's bright, spacious, stylish, modern, tasteful... what more can we say?
- If you love your fashion, and love to shop, it's perfect: the apartment has a dressing room as large as the bedroom! Plenty of space for all of those new purchases.
- Life can't all be fancy parties and clothes shopping. Luckily, you can come down to earth with plenty of local conveniences nearby - including a large 24h Carrefour supermarket just a few minute's walk away.
- You'll be less than 15 minutes from the beautiful Park del Buen Retiro. It's called Buen for a reason. We love it there – we're sure you will too.
