On the 4th floor of an older building, this 1-bedroom apartment to rent on Via degli Ombrellari is cute, comfortable and in a fantastic location. The gorgeous floors lead into a fully equipped kitchen that opens up to an L-shaped living and dining area. The dining space has wonderful wood furnishings, and music fans will appreciate that there is even a piano in the room. Around the corner, you’ll find a gorgeous old desk, wardrobe, sofa and a window view to the quaint narrow street below. Just off of the kitchen is a door to the laundry and bathroom facilities, as well as the bedroom. If you’re a writer, artist or freelancer, your imagination will reel at all the possibilities of being able to reorganize the bedroom’s closed balcony into your own private office or creation palace.
Located in San Pietro/Vaticani you are very close the trodden path of pilgrims and tourists. In fact, you can look out your living room window to spot the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica, or you can walk to the Vatican and see it first-hand within 5 minutes. From this spot, you are pretty much near the center of Roman history, and of modern life. The Tiber River is a mere 5-minute walk and, just over Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, you’ll find the Pantheon and other popular sights. Closer to home, you can stroll down your quaint street and stop at a multitude of restaurants and cafés, before heading to the Le Salette Theater, just 2 minutes away. Or you can pop into the Carrefour Express supermarket to pick up groceries for a home-cooked meal.
What we liked the most
- The closed balcony off the bedroom is truly a great space to study or work.
- Your apartment is in a very busy part of town, but your living and dining room faces a somewhat quieter and less trodden side-street.
- You don’t have to go far for groceries, and there are dozens of restaurants and cafés just outside your door.
- The apartment is situated within a 10-minute walk from the Vatican, the Tiber and Castel Sant'Angelo.
