You’ll love this...
The locals fill the cervejarias, cafes, and restaurants in picturesque squares on sunny summer days. No one is in much of hurry in this laid-back residential spot.
But you won’t love this...
The locals joke that it’s mostly “stroller-pushing newlyweds or the elderly” around here. It might not be famous for its nightlife, but if you need a late night cocktail, try the intimate Bar A Parodia.
Will I like living here?...
Campo de Ourique might be Lisbon’s most attractive residential neighbourhood. There’s a wealth of good local restaurants, lovely parks, and an almost village-like feel to this off the trodden track parish.
And if you’re bored...
Mercado do Campo de Ourique: Get shoulder to shoulder at this busy local market. Pick up something fresh for dinner, or grab a crafty beer.

An affordable feast and a cheap (but gooood) glass of Vinho Verde is not hard to find in Campo de Ourique. It’s the perfect spot to eat like a local and take a tour of Lisbon’s unpretentious and simply delicious cuisine.
And did you know?…
Speaking of food... The pastéis de nata is Lisbon’s legendary tart, of divine origin.
Legend has it that nuns created the original with leftover egg yolks (having starched their habits with the whites).
Pastelaria Aloma in Campo de Ourique is a great place to sample the sweet side of Portuguese cuisine.
